Dr Ifeanyinwa Kanu

Dr Ifeyinwa Kanu has a PhD in Environmental Engineering with research interest in the use of artificial intelligence and advanced biological investigations such as ‘Omics Analysis’ to optimise anaerobic processes. Dr Kanu is the founder and CEO of IntelliDigest Ltd, she loves nature and passionate about engineering novel solutions that drive behavioural changes towards addressing most global environmental and societal challenges such as food waste.
Ifeyinwa has led IntelliDigest to win various awards demonstrating the impact of our solutions. Some of the notable awards are: EIT Climate KIC, EIT Food Accelerator Network, Royal Academy of Engineering (RAEng) Enterprise Fellowship, Royal Society of Edinburgh (RSE) Enterprise Fellowship, Telefonica-WAYRA AI/Blockchain Accelerator, IET Innovation Award, Scottish Environmental Protection Agency’s VIBES Award, etc.; as well as executing Royal Bank of Scotland Back Her Business crowdfunding successfully.
In 2017, she was nominated for Women’s Engineering Society (WES) Top 50 women in Engineering under 35 in the UK and in 2020, she was nominated for WES Top 50 Women in Engineering (WE50) in Sustainability. Dr Ifeyinwa Kanu is a Member of Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management (MCIWEM), Associate Fellow of Higher Education-UK (AFHEA) and Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA).
