Dr. Wanyama Joshua

Dr. Wanyama Joshua is a Senior Lecturer at Makerere University Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering. He holds a PhD in Bioscience Engineering from Katholieke Universiteit (KU) Leuven, Belgium; an M.Sc. in Water Science and Engineering IHE Institute for Water Education Delft, the Netherlands; and BSc. in Agricultural Engineering from Makerere University. His area of expertise is in Water Science and Irrigation Engineering. He has experience of 19 years in teaching, research, consultancy and project management during which he has been both a team member and a team leader on various research and development projects. He has also been involved in policy review and development as Subject Matter Specialist Water for Agricultural Production. Joshua is Member of Regional Expert Group on Irrigation under Nile Basin Initiative.
He has conducted research in developing climate-smart irrigation technologies that can boost agricultural productivity and contribute to agro-industrialization. To this end he has published a number of papers in peer reviewed Journals and supervised graduate student. Dr. Wanyama is a member of the Ugandan Society of Agricultural. Biosystems and Environmental Engineers (USABEE) and the Pan African Society of Agricultural Engineers (PASAE).
